Horizon

In 2003, a determined team of entrepreneurs, scientists, and engineers from around the world joined forces with a mission to introduce commercially viable, clean hydrogen fuel cell power. The company's overall vision is aligned with world, national, and scientific leaders seeking to eliminate mankind's reliance on carbon-based fuels in favor of clean, low-cost energy for all the planet's citizens, generated from climate-friendly and renewable resources.

Adopting a global approach from the start, Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies was founded in Singapore where it established its advanced R&D laboratories, and established its consumer and industrial production facilities in Shanghai. During the past 5 years, Horizon's team also developed localized representations in several countries around the world. Horizon recently opened a separate laboratory base in Singapore and dedicated to special projects in Aerospace and Defense.

In addition to achieving a series of technological breakthroughs throughout the fuel cell value chain, Horizon developed a comprehensive technology and manufacturing platform capable of viably introducing fuel cell technologies into early commercial markets. By following its unique approach to start commercialization with small and simple products before entering larger and more complex applications, Horizon has emerged as the world's largest volume producer of commercial PEM fuel cell products, serving customers in over 40 countries.

The launch of the "H-racer" toy-scale fuel cell car in 2006 offered a first glimpse of the company's unique marketing approach followed by several consumer product design awards, and a Time Magazine "Best Invention". Meanwhile on the technical front, the company started demonstrating its world-leading fuel cell performance through new world records established in NASA-funded unmanned flights -powered by Horizon fuel cell systems. The wide range of capabilities has enabled the company to rapidly develop unique products with clearly defined competitive advantages over existing power or energy storage technologies, focusing on immediate to near-term commercial markets.

Today, Horizon is able to produce extremely compact, lightweight, PEM fuel cells at varying degrees of complexity and performance, as well as deliver hydrogen storage and on-site hydrogen generation solutions that are suitable for many specialty and mainstream applications, including consumer electronics, portable emergency power, stationary back-up power, aerospace systems, and clean transportation solutions.

The H-racer is a micro-version of what engineers and scientists have been dreaming about for real cars: combining hydrogen with oxygen to generate a DC current to power an electric motor. Unlike a gas-powered car engine, the only byproducts are electricity and pure water. Horizon has created a unique, patented miniature fuel-cell car and hydrogen refueling station. The Refueling Station creates hydrogen by electrolysis using water, and once the car's hydrogen tank is full, the car can run on its own hydrogen fuel-cell system, with the simple flip of a switch.

Next Generation of GREEN Energy -- Demonstrate the latest in fuel cell technology! Using ethanol as its fuel source, this kit includes tools to create hours of electricity without combustion. Bio energy is energy derived from biomass or materials derived from recently living organisms or their metabolic byproducts. -- Biofuels can be broadly defined as a combustible fuel produced from biomass including solid, liquid, or gas forms of fuel derived from recently dead biological material, most commonly plants. This device uses biofuel and runs non-stop for days, providing an amazing demonstration of next-generation fuel cell technology.

The smallest and coolest hydrogen fuel cell car in the world just got a whole lot cooler! The new H-racer 2.0 adds infrared remote control and steering capability, as well as faster driving speed thanks to a new generation of miniature PEM fuel cells. Just like the original H-Racer, this car does not need batteries! The car uses a real fuel cell and its own on-board hydrogen storage system. Use this accessory to fuel the H-racer 2.0 with an unlimited supply of clean energy. To create free hydrogen fuel at the flick of a switch, just add water to the station's tank! Fueling is animated by a special blue light display. Includes the H-Racer 2.0, Fueling Station, Instruction Guide and solar panel. The H-Racer 2.0 requires about 20 minutes of simple assembly and will operate for about 4 minutes (or approx. 100m) from a full hydrogen tank. You'll want this car for it's educational "toy" appeal.
